From family projects, compassionate give aways, to selling at Tourist Information Centres, the New England has certainly become crafting champions in the mask making effort.
But for one lady in Uralla, she has created something of a spy network to suss out who in her community is most in need.
The silent sewer, wishing to only be known as Daphne, says she has the time, the resources, and the desire to help others.
She has coordinated messengers to see where the need lies and has them report back to her.
"It is at a little cost for us, and a bit of our seniors bonus that we got has gone into it, but we've been using scraps of material ... and a few people have given me calico for the middle layers," she explained.
"I guess over the years in my lifetime I've always been involved in community. I am disabled now and I've slowed down quite a bit, but I always have to be doing something so I saw this as a way to help out."
A lot of her masks are made for those at high risk or those with a chronic illness, so four layers are used to make them extra protective.
She knows others are not in the position to do as she does, but says if anyone has the time or the material, it would be "lovely" if they all did a few for those in need.
With the whirring of a sewing machine in the background, Tamworth's Lene Benson describes her foray into mask-making as an action to "kick COVID to the curb with colour."
"I have an autoimmune disease as do a lot of people around me. That was something that was on my mind very early in the piece," she explained.
I am actually having fun mixing and matching. If it picks up my spirits, I hope it picks up others too.

"Common sense told me that if you cover your own germs you are protecting other people."
She's made 250 triple lined, machine washable masks in the last few weeks alone, with a total of 300 since she first started a few months ago.

Ms Benson laughingly suggests she may start creating collections, already doing evening wear and active wear editions.
