The final score in the No 1 Oval clash was 28.20 (188) to 6.7 (43).
It is understood that it was the Swans' first Tamworth win over the Nomads since 2009.
Last season the Swans ended a long winless drought in Armidale when they beat the Nomads.
Crowhurst played for Port Macquarie in a trial against the Swans last year.

- Paul Kelly
"It's a good pick-up for us," Tamworth coach Paul Kelly said of Crowhurst.
"He's a good leader and a good runner, and obviously a good goal-kicker," Kelly added.
"So it's good to have someone like that when you go forward."
The Swans rebounded strongly from a 97-point opening round loss to the Bulldogs in Gunnedah.
Kelly said his charges were "determined" to improve on their first-up performance.
"The way we played our footy is the way we wanted to play," he said.
