The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) is forecasting a strong chance of showers and maybe even a thunderstorm over the weekend, and rainy conditions could continue into early next week.
The BoM said Saturday will likely bring the onset of wet weather to the city. There's a near-100 per cent chance of between 6mm and 10mm of rain falling over the day.
Showers could continue on Sunday, according to the BoM's forecast of a near-100 per cent chance of between 5mm and 15mm falling.

The BoM is forecasting a dreary start to the week as cloudy and wet weather hangs around. There's a high chance of showers in the late afternoon and evening on Monday.
Mild temperatures are expected to continue in Tamworth, with weekend maximums predicted to reach the high teens, while minimum temperatures are predicted to get down to about 7 degrees or 8 degrees.
Weekend rain is also forecast for Gunnedah and Armidale, as a low pressure system builds.
The BoM predicts rain gauge totals will vary in different areas, due to some of the rain being brought by storms.
