Tamworth was set to host a clash between the Wests Tigers and Canberra Raiders before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the season's fixture to be altered.
Mr Anderson said the venue could host a game as soon as next month.

"We are certainly pushing really hard to get a NRL game at Scully Park," Mr Anderson told the Leader.
"I've been dealing with the NRL as well as the Deputy Premier's office on this very issue.
"The signs are very good, but obviously under the new rules and restrictions that are being re-introduced to sporting organisations, a lot of work still needs to be done.
"However, I will be pushing very hard to get a NRL game in Tamworth, perhaps later in August."
The Tamworth MP's confidence comes after Wests Entertainment Group CEO Rod Laing told the Leader earlier this month the NRL had "offered Warriors versus Newcastle Knights for late August or the game against Parramatta Eels in early September."
An NRL spokesperson earlier this month also confirmed the league was exploring the possibility of the Warriors playing a match in Tamworth.
Despite the city's chances of hosting an NRL game improving, Mr Anderson said interest in hosting an A-League game at Scully Park had cooled.
"I haven't heard too much in regards to the A-League game yet, they're still working on that," he said.
"I think there has been a serious setback on that one due to what's been happening in Victoria.
"It's spooked a lot of people and now a higher-level of caution and anxiety exists within our community.
"I think those discussions are being had, but I certainly want to make sure our community is safe if an A-League club, like the Wellington Phoenix, wanted to call Tamworth home for any period of time."
