Owners of the Nemingha Petroleum, Post and News service station, lodged a development application (DA) with the council earlier this month to carry out a $150,000 upgrade.
Included in the proposed works is the removal of a pre-existing above-ground fuel tank and the installation of two new above-ground fuel tanks.

The (DA) papers say proposed works to the site on the corner of Armidale Road and Nundle Road also include the replacement of fuel lines, an additional bowser, new concrete areas and the "continued use of an existing illuminated pylon sign."
The service station is also the current home of the Nemingha post office.
The council has assigned its development assessment planner Dan Whale to investigate the project.
Mr Whale will also assess when and if the project will go onto public exhibition.
