The council has vacancies in three high-level positions; director of growth and prosperity, director of planning and compliance and a whole new position in executive manager of strategy and performance.
It's all part of a reshuffle to make sure the council can deliver on Blueprint 100, the document that sets out the city's future.
Good applicants don't come cheap, with the three roles expected to cost a total of $680,000 in annual salaries.
The aim of the leadership roles is to make the council more responsive in addressing the needs of the community, a TRC spokesman said.
"This recruitment comes at the end of a project which has worked to realign council's workforce to deliver on Blueprint 100, driving growth and investment while continuing to deliver the level of services and facilities that our community has come to expect," he said.
"These positions will ensure the focus remains on growth into the future, and will help to direct where our priorities lie."
The prosperity and growth director will have a greater focus on Tamworth's economic development, while the director of planning and compliance will help facilitate the delivery of Blueprint 100.
The new executive manager of strategy and performance role was created to fill a gap identified in the organisation's structure.
The candidate will be responsible for making sure the workforce delivers and remains focused on Blueprint 100.

Recruitment firm McArthur has been brought on board to find the right people for the positions and the process is expected to be finalised by early October, the council spokesman said.
"We have already had significant interest from candidates across both local government and the private sector, and we look forward to learning more about what these candidates could bring to the table should they be successful in their applications," he said.
Former TRC Planning and Compliance director Brent McAlister initiated the development of Blueprint 100.
