Sam Holt showed he is as adept at scoring goals as he is at saving them, slotting a hat-trick for Tudor Wests as they rolled defending champions Workies 5-2 in their Tamworth men's first grade season opener on Saturday.

Usually their goalkeeper, Holt has moved into the field this season with Tony Mumford taking the pads.
Sam Levick and Oliver McGill also found the net in what striker Brett Lobsey said was a good start for the side on the back of some promising form in the trials.

"We played some pretty good trials," he said.
"The team started coming together and we realised we have across the paddock a pretty strong team."
They have lost last year's co-coach Sam Lobsey (he is having the year of). He is a big loss but having Levick back on board after injury abbreviated his return will help compensate for that.
"It's great to have him back," Lobsey said.
Levick will also share the captain-coach duties with Jake Sheppeard.
Stepping up from second grade Brock Lambert, at right half, was adjudged their best performer on Saturday.
"He's a young player who went out there and did his job," Lobsey said.
Callum Henry and McGill also had really strong games, with the latter "playing great hockey" at the moment.
Nick O'Connor also scored a hat-trick as South United made an early statement, hammering Kiwis 7-nil in the earlier game. Jarrod McCluand and Will Turner both chimed in with two goals apiece in what was an impressive first-up effort from last year's runners-up.
