Essential Energy has opened up 39 apprentice and trainee positions as part of its annual apprenticeship program.
The positions are being offered in Armidale, Barraba, Goondiwindi, Grafton, Mudgee and Narrabri, just to name a few.
Customer and network services' general manager Luke Jenner said the apprentice program was recognised as the best in Australia at the 2019 Australian Apprentices awards.
"This ongoing investment in trainees and apprentices brings significant employment and development opportunities to our local communities across rural, regional and remote NSW and parts of southern Queensland," Mr Jenner said.
"As the economic impacts of COVID-19 are felt across the state, we are delighted to be creating new job opportunities in regional communities and helping build capability right across the State."

The program boasts a 93 per cent completion rate, well above the national average of 63 per cent.
Just as impressive is the retention rate, with 92 per cent of apprentices completing their training and one in four going on to higher technical roles within the business.

Around 1300 apprentices have been employed by Essential Energy since 2003.
