"He came up and met all the kids and spoke to them about the fighting game and questioned them about what's their ambitions and what their goals were.
Chalky said all the students really benefited from the visit to their training session.
"He was very, very open and very talkative to the group," he said.
"He just had a yarn to all of us and he spoke well. He was just encouraging to the kids and they were all happy to have met him and listened to his advice.
"When a champion walks in, shakes their hand and encourages them, they pop up and get a bit more bounce in their feet.
"He congratulated us on being there for the kids in the town."
Mundine was also able to join Moree's champion boxer TC Priestley on Saturday morning for a one-on-one training session.
Chalky's Boxing Gym will be holding an open day on July 25, to give the community an opportunity to visit the new facility.
The event will run from 11am to 3pm, where there will be a free sausage sizzle and a chance to meet former world champion boxers and international boxing identities.
