A MAN will appear in Gunnedah court on Thursday morning charged with the sexual abuse of two children in the Central West.
In January this year, detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad started an investigation after reports two children had been sexually abused by a man who was known to them.
Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 30-year-old man at Coonamble police station just before 9am on July 2.
The man was charged with four counts of sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 10 years; four counts of committing an act of indecency with a victim under 10 years; and indecent assault of a child under 16 years.
Detectives will allege in court that the man sexually abused a young girl and boy on numerous occasions at Coonamble between 2013 and 2014.
The man was refused bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Thursday.
Detectives said investigations are continuing.
