Two Gunnedah residents were woken up in the early hours of the morning by the terrifying sounds of an intruder in their home.

Both of them live on Palmer Crescent and had their homes broken into within half an hour of each other of Friday.
Around 3.30am, a 57-year-old man was woken up by a loud noise, before hearing his bedroom door open.
Police say he confronted the intruder, who then fled from the house.
Officers from Oxley Police District visited the property and started investigations.
Just 30 minutes later, a woman in her 80s was disturbed from her sleep, and woke to see a man running from her house.
It was later discovered a mobile phone and wallet were missing.
In a spot of good luck, two women found and returned the wallet to her later that same day.

However police would like to speak to these women, as they would anyone who has any information about the break-ins.
