"Lifeblood is an organisation which saves many many thousands of lives every year and those lives can only be saved by people donating whole blood and plasma," he said.
"This challenge is something everyone in Tamworth can get involved in."
Cr Murray said despite being a relatively small council, TRC had been competitive in the past, taking out top place twice and missing out by a handful of donations last year.

"This is a really friendly place and it's great to come out here every two weeks to catch up on the goss," he said.
Bookings can be made on the Lifeblood website.
