And celebrating the 'new' New Year's Eve sure brought smiles to faces around Tamworth.
Thought up by Tamworth True's Jody Ekert, she said it certainly didn't disappoint.
The night was celebrated with many combined parties, including the Global Pride Watch party, a unicorn and rainbow-themed birthday party, and an 'Ugh' 2020 gathering where all, fittingly, wore Ugg boots.
"From what I've seen in the group, quite a few people bought new diaries, lots of people did up new resolutions," Ms Ekert explained.
She and her son really got into the swing, going all out with balloons, decorations, and special New Year's themed cupcakes, finishing with a count down till midnight.
Following on from the weekend before, where they even celebrated a second Christmas.
"We've redone the whole lot leading up to New Year's. I think we are a bit partied out now," she laughed.
"One party I went to 'Ugh 2020', everyone wore Ugg boots. Another had a little get together as a beers and reflection kind of event.
"Someone else, her daughter turned three, so they had a rainbow and unicorn themed event. Everyone combined an existing idea, so it was a mish-mash of everything."
She certainly got a good reaction from the shops where she got balloons, with many a questioning look at her seemingly odd choice of decorations.

"When I went to pick up the balloons, they said' can we ask why? Did someone get a divorce?' But I said it's 2020 - anything goes," she joked.
"I know that even if someone isn't participating, everyone is getting so much enjoyment and getting a laugh, so it's going well for us.
"We have stayed positive in that group, the community vibe has stuck."
