The Brett Cavanough-trained Oneness (Chad Lever) was a close second, with the Jeremy Sylvester-trained Drachenfels (Robert Thompson) two lengths away in third.
In his last start, Burning Crown ran last at Randwick on June 6.
He has won six of his 18 starts, with eight minor placings, for 211,000 in prizemoney.
Two races earlier at Scone, the Cody Morgan-trained Shamusu Sho (Mitchell Bell) won the $27,000 SRC Members Class 3 Showcase Handicap (1400m).
The Kiwi four-year-old gelding beat the Rodney Northam-trained Magic Charlee (Reece Jones) by half a length, with the Kim Waugh-trained Light Of Uluru (Grant Buckley) third.
It was Shamusu Sho's third win this preparation - he won at Armidale on March 29 and at Scone on June 26 - and had to come from last to win on Friday.
Morgan said: "He's always shown good ability. Like, he won his maiden by five lengths and class one by a similar margin.
"So, to go through his first preparation for us and win three, it's been a really good job."
The eight-race TAB meeting had been scheduled for Tamworth, but was transferred due to wet weather.
The Tamworth Jockey Club's substandard drainage system was blamed for the meeting being transferred. It is not the first time the club has transferred a meeting because of the issue.
Work on upgrading the drainage system will commence in October.
