Australia and New Zealand won the right to host the international tournament on Friday, and Mr Anderson said Tamworth would be eager to play a part in the event.
"We've got some of the best sporting facilities in NSW," Mr Anderson said.
"There's no reason why we would not be able to host a training facility, or a camp, warm-up game, or a World Cup game.
"We will be doing whatever we can to put our best foot forwarded and see if we can get a slice of the pie."

Mr Anderson said Tamworth's success in hosting the New Zealand Warriors at Scully park would hold the region in good stead.
"There's no doubt about it, we have great facilities and it would be good for the sport in the region and not just Tamworth," he said.
"We will be certainly pushing our case forward when the time comes."
Mr Anderson said the construction of Tamworth's new hockey centre could also play a pivotal role in the city's bid.
"It is another fantastic facility," he said.
"There's no doubt it could play a significant part in anything we'd be able to host."
