A brand new 'musical ribbon bench' was installed on Monday morning at the Peel Street end of Fitzroy Plaza by Tamworth Regional Council.
Tamworth councillor Juanita Wilson said it adds a bit of "quirky fun" to the city's CBD.
She said the treble cleft design was chosen to complement other musical themes in the area.

Tamworth Regional Gallery director Bridget Guthrie said she can see the ribbon bench becoming a meeting point in Fitzroy Plaza.
"Public art plays a critical role ... it helps to generate landmarks and to tell the story of a place," she said.
The 'musical ribbon bench' was built here in Tamworth, by local engineering firm JRC Stainless Fabrications, and can be moved around.
It's made from stainless steel and is designed to not get too hot, so it can be enjoyed all year round.
