Varga picked up his first win of the meeting behind the Ernie Mabbott-trained Got The Scoop in the Hazell's Farm & Fertilizer Services Pace.
Varga said: "I have been driving a couple of winners now and then but it's been a while since I drove a double."

Varga also helped Armidale trainer John Enks secure a training double with the win of Groovy Shannon in the Tamworth Veterinary Hospital Pace, after Maitland reinsman Brad Elder guided stablemate and the $8.50-priced Neville Shannon to an impressive win in the Jackson Quality Meats Armidale Pace.
Varga was "very impressed" with the run of Got The Scoop, with the eight-year-old Sportswriter-Platinum Sign gelding winning on debut for the Mabbott stables, after previously racing in Sydney, and paying $5 for the win.
"It is the first time that I have driven the horse," Varga said. "He is a good free-going horse - you can either lead or sit in the chair on him and let him do his own thing."
From the five barrier, Varga let Got The Scoop run three wide after the barrier rise, to race outside race leader Lettuefireharvey (Michael Formosa).
"Racing outside the leader was tough but it didn't seem to phase him (Got The Scoop)," Varga said.
Got The Scoop raced with broken gear when the lugging pole became detached not long after the start.
"It wasn't too bad. It (the lugging pole) came undone at the release point so I had to keep pushing on from there and he got the job done," Varga said.
With a brazen race move from the 600m mark, Varga let Got The Scoop "slide along" and place a gap on the field.
"I let him slide at the bell and that put the gap on the field. It broke a few hearts down the back but we just kept plugging away from there," Varga said.
It was in a similar race fashion that Varga then recorded his second win for the night behind the new acquisition to the Enks stable at Armidale - Groovy Shannon.
Varga said: "John told me to let her slide from the 600[m] on - and that's what we did. She showed she has a good turn of foot."
Groovy Shannon paid $4.60 for the win - finishing 8.8m in front of Night Lights, with She's Heavenly (Dean Chapple) 37.8 metres away in third place.
