Grant Lee is unsure when he'll be able to reopen the Forum 6 Cinemas but one thing he's sure of, he'll be doing everything he can to keep his business running in some form in the meantime.
Forum 6 has taken part in the NDL's Business Hour and has kept its Facebook page up to date to keep in touch with customers.
And while movies can't be watched on the big screen at the moment, Forum 6 has been opening their Candy Bar, from 2pm-7pm Friday-Sunday, so people can have cinema snacks at home.
And it's not only the customers Mr Lee wants to keep in contact with, it's also his staff.
"We don't want to be stuck at home and doing nothing. It's good to be able to have purpose, basically," the Forum 6 manager said.
"We can come in and keep that contact as well because I don't want to lose all that with the staff and also with the public.
"We wanted to be able to keep that contact there and that's why I'll try anything and I'm happy to give something a go.
"If it doesn't work, we'll move onto something else and give that a go."
Indoor movie theatres are allowed to reopen with up to 20 patrons in step two of the federal government's three-step COVID-19 framework.
However, that decision will be ultimately be made by the state government and if only 20 patrons are allowed, Mr Lee said Forum 6 would unlikely open.
"Whether it's July, August September. We just don't know what we're looking at," he said.
Mr Lee also said customers would be coming back to a new cinema experience with a large number of movies pushing back their release dates.
"We know cinemas are in stage two [of the framework] but our problem is we don't have movies to play yet so it'll be older movies," he said.
"We do have Mulan in July and Wonder Woman in August but most of the movies are coming in September.
"That will be good if that happens but we just need to wait and see what we can offer to the public."
Forum 6 will also stick to the strict COVID-19 guidelines when it reopens and customers can expect a spotless cinema.
"It's going to be like we're opening a brand new business because everything has been cleaned," he said.
"The staff have gone through every cupboard, pull everything out and wiped it clean.
"Our seats are being done currently and carpets will be done as well.
