Following the endorsement last week from AFL NSW/ACT for clubs to resume restricted training, the Swans submitted their field bookings to Tamworth Regional Council and are now just waiting to hear back.

"We're ready to go as soon as they give us the go ahead," McKenzie said.

Under the government guidelines and AFL NSW/ACT's Return to Small Group Training Protocols they are able to train in groups of up to 10 with three separate groups permitted to train on the one oval.

That has meant some adjustments to the club's usual training schedule.

One of those is separate nights for training for the men's and women's teams.

McKenzie said they had put in for Tuesday and Thursday night as well as Saturday, using, at this stage, predominantly Riverside 5.

With the lights now operating it suits their needs.

He said the players are "very excited" about getting back into training after having not really seen each other or a Sherrin for nearly two-and-a-half months.

"There's a real feeling of excitement about getting back into training and the promise of some sort of a season," he said.
