A MAN has been airlifted to Tamworth hospital after a quad bike he was riding rolled on Tuesday afternoon.

Two ambulance crews responded to initial reports a 56-year-old man had been injured at a property at Bugaldie, north of Coonabarabran at about 4pm.
The Wesptac Rescue Helicopter Service was also tasked to the property before 4:30pm on Tuesday to help stabilise the man and transport him to hospital.

The chopper's critical care team and ambulance paramedics treated the man for suspected back and neck injuries at the scene.
It is understood the 56-year-old man was injured after the quad bike he was riding rolled down an embankment at the Bugaldie property.
The man was stabilised and flown by helicopter to Tamworth hospital for further treatment.
It is believed he was in a stable condition.
