The water main break happened earlier this morning near the intersection of Church and Mathews Street.

Traffic is still able to get through with one lane still open as Tamworth Regional Council crews work to repair the water main.

Road users are encouraged to avoid this area or take an alternative route if possible.

The repair work is expected to continue throughout the day.
