TWO teenagers allegedly connected to a spate of car thefts have been arrested.

The teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were taken into custody in Gunnedah on Wednesday after investigations into a series of incidents in late-April.
Gunnedah police, backed by detectives and the Oxley Target Action Group (TAG) moved in on the 17-year-old about 11.45am, before he was taken to Gunnedah police station.
Officers confirmed he will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

About an hour-and-a-half later, police arrested the 18-year-old man. He was also questioned by police at the station and later charged with stealing a car; taking and using a conveyance without consent; and driving while unlicensed.
He was granted conditional bail by police and will front Gunnedah Local Court at the start of June.
"Investigations into the stealing of other motor vehicles continues with further arrests and charges expected," Gunnedah police Inspector Michael Wurth confirmed.
"Gunnedah police wish to thank members of the public who have provided information during this investigation but would also like to remind the community that if you see something suspicious to contact police."
In the last week of April, five cars were stolen across Gunnedah in just a matter of days with three people believed to be behind the crime spree.
Work utes were stolen in Mathias Road and later found dumped or torched.
In a separate incident, three work utes were stolen from a business on Alford Road and set alight. All were destroyed and found off the Kamilaroi Highway, outside of town.
Police had made a public appeal for information and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, as part of their investigation.
