The track has held a race meeting weekly over the past month as well as having two trial days each week as well.

Geoff Rose - a Gunnedah-based director of the NSW Greyhound Breeders, Owners and Trainers Association - said he couldn't be happier with how the track is playing.

"There's no problems with the track at all," Rose said.

"It's been going extra well. It's consistent. I couldn't ask for it to perform better than it is."

Despite having so many meetings, Rose said the nominations had been consistent as well.

"Nominations are still holding up," he said.

"It varies between 115 to 130 nominations. There's some [greyhounds] that can't back up each week or have small injuries and need 10 days off.

"But we have another 10-race card so I'm pretty happy."

Something else Rose is happy about is the draft racing calendar for the 2020/21 financial year.

"It's been recommended we have 22 TAB twilight meetings on a Thursday for that period," Rose said.

"It's a draft, and that will be decided in the next week or so, but that would be a good slot for us.

"I'm pretty happy with that and also applying for more. There's a chance we could have a few more added."

Gunnedah's 10-race card kicks off at 3.49pm.

William Marmara and Kevin Sills are both taking a big contingent to the meeting with each trainer nominating nine greyhounds each.
