With rain on Saturday dampening any possible plans, Mother's Day was the focus on Sunday, according to Reflection's park managers Leith Smith and Paul Irwin.
Next weekend, however, they both hope and expect the flow of fishermen, women and thrill-seekers to be steady.
For Copeton Dam's Mr Irwin, while he may not have had many through the gates, those that did brought some good hauls back with them.
He had five annual pass holders go through the gates, with at least eight day-trippers pass through.
One of the biggest Cod they caught came in at an impressive 1.11 meters in length, with others coming in between 80 centimetres and 1.10 meters long.
"The fish have been good, just waiting for people to come and catch them," Mr Irwin laughed.
"The water levels are on the rise, and the Cod love these cooler temperatures. [It's good] if even I can catch a fish!"

While he is expecting a influx of people this coming weekend, he is more than ready for restrictions to be lifted on the other amenities the parks have to offer.
Those who did come through were generous with their purchases from the kiosk, buying fuel, ice, drinks and other items to keep them sustained out on the water.
Mr Irwin only hopes that as restrictions ease on pubs and clubs, people will still come to the park after they quench their thirst for the "first frothy" after lockdowns.
Down the road at Lake Keepit, Mr Smith said if the amounts of phone calls and inquiries he has had is anything to go by, he'll soon be swamped.

"It was such short notice for water access, then Saturday we had rain, and obviously Sunday was Mother's Day, and because we have no access to public areas, just the water access for fishing and water sports," Mr Smith said.
He's not too worried about the cool change coming considering everybody has been cooped up.
"Water is open for fishing and water skiing ... we will get a lot of fishermen regardless of weather, and there is a lot of different fish on bite, a lot of water in the dam, so people will be keen."
