A warm welcome back to the coalface of democracy this evening, where the Leader will bring you live updates from the Tamworth Regional Council meeting.
And, it appears frustrations have boiled over with water sharing plans for the Peel and Namoi Valleys.
Council argues the proposed plans do nothing to improve the reliability and security of town water supplies, and it is prepared to launch a $100,000 media and education campaign encouraging residents to express their dissatisfaction to Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson.
NSW Minister for Water Melinda Pavey could also receive a harshly-worded letter, with the council voting tonight on whether to express its frustration with the documents that show no changes from those on public display in 2019.
Tamworth Regional Council wrote to Ms Pavey in 2019 to highlight issues with the plans, namely that the drought wasn't over, so no lessons could be learned, and there were no changes to the water sharing plan for the Peel River to secure the city's water supply.
The Chaffey Dam pipeline will come under scrutiny tonight as the council votes to continue to lobby for ownership with Ms Pavey and Mr Anderson.
Also on the agenda is the removal of maintenance sheds at the Longyard Golf Course to make room for a second development application to turn the staff accommodation into serviced apartments.
And, those who want to fill up at bulk water filling stations may be restricted once the town its located in reaches Level 3 water restrictions if council votes to support the motion tonight among a raft of other decisions.
