After a competitive selection process, Kate Jessep has been appointed the new general manager of the council.
It was her commitment to working in small communities that was most impressive, mayor Michael Pearce said.
"We are absolutely delighted to have recruited a leader with Kate's experience to join us at what is a challenging time for our community," he said.
Ms Jessep has worked for multiple levels of government, in councils in Victoria and South Australia and in the private sector.

Her first point of order as general manager is to drive growth and enhance the liveability of the community, she said.
"This needs to be an ongoing focus as the shire recovers from the recent challenges of drought, bushfire and the current pandemic we are all living through," she said.
Ms Jessep will start in the new role in July, and replaces former general manager Andrew Hopkins.
