In a media release this week, Netball NSW CEO Carolyn Campbell said the organisation has been continuing to closely monitor developments in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and accordingly planning for what the 2020 season might look like subject to the status of the public health advice by certain milestones.
With the current NSW Public Health Order (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) presently in force until Monday, 29 June 2020, the suspension of all netball activities has been extended from early May until June 30, pending the NSW government lifting the order earlier than then.
Subsequently the governing body is at this stage recommending that associations plan for an approximately Saturday July 18 start to their club competitions and NetSetGo programs, although that is at the discretion of the individual associations.

"This date coincides with the end of mid-year school holidays and was also the date which many associations nominated as their preferred start date to get an abbreviated season underway in our recent survey," Campbell said.
The junior and senior state titles (with the exception of opens) will meanwhile now be held on the October long weekend - Saturday October 3 to Monday October 5.
The opens division will now be included to run concurrently with Masters State Titles and Social Masters on the scheduled Masters dates of 17-18 October 2020.
As to the Regional League competitions they are at the discretion of the region and Netball NSW Regional Managers will work with the associations on re-scheduling and the format of the competitions.
The Northern Inland competition should be able to proceed as planned albeit with some changes to the format.
Campbell said the guidance around the various competitions will be further reviewed and confirmed by no later than June 1, subject to the existing government advice available.
