LPSC mayor Andrew Hope said $400 worth of prizes would be shared among various age categories.

Infant, primary and high school students are able to enter the competition.

"Due to prevailing circumstances council has had to cancel events that were planned for the school holidays and have developed several initiatives that students can participate in at home. The prizes will be shop local vouchers which will assist local businesses during these trying times," Cr Hope said.

"Entries can be paintings, drawings or photos. We want students to create an original artwork, from inside your home, about the view from your window in the spirit of staying at home during the current restrictions on travelling."

Students can enter the competition by emailing events@lpsc.nsw.gov.au with the subject art from the inside, and their name, age and entry attached. Entries close April 25.

Cr Hope said the council was also arranging for the shire's schools to distribute free activity bags for primary-aged children.

"Each activity bag contains a no-mess 12-page activity booklet, age-appropriate themed activities, two Busy Nippers character combat collectible cards, two finger puppets, colourful stickers, an easy peel-off sticker scene and four colour non-toxic crayons," he said.

"Although our libraries are closed until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, young folk can gain access to our online resources and apps.

"There's a lot available to keep them occupied during the stay-at-home holiday."
