The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) recorded 16.6mm, between 12:30pm and 5pm on Monday, at its Tamworth Airport gauge.
Locals recorded various amounts of rain across the city, with one East Tamworth resident collecting 18mm.

Locals took to Facebook with their measurements and said 16mm fell at Loomberah; 26mm at Quirindi; 13.5mm at Moore Creek; and 12.4mm at Daruka.
The BoM gauge at Gunnedah airport notched up 10.8mm and Narrabri got 24.2mm.
Chaffey Dam remains at 13.8 per cent and Keepit Dam is at 12.6 per cent capacity.
The BoM forecasts a wet end to the week for Tamworth. There is a medium chance of rain on Wednesday and Thursday and a high chance of rain and possibly thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.
