Now Johanna Vitalone and her daughter Bianca Butcher are the owners of Cold Rock Tamworth.
And, they've decided to literally take it up a level with a new kids party room.
"It had been really run down and we've gotten it back up, we're up about 40 per cent from the previous owners," Ms Vitalone said.
"There's not a lot here for kids parties, we had a lot of room upstairs that wasn't being used so we decided to renovate it."
The pair have lived in Tamworth for five years and purchased the business towards the end of 2019.
When the party room isn't used for a party, icecream fanatics can go up there and chill out.
The family-owned business is one of about two Cold Rock Icecreamery's in the state to have a party room for children.

Ms Vitalone and her daughter have been busy with major renovations to the shop to allow customers to go upstairs.
"My husband is a builder and we've built and renovated multiple houses together," she said. The party room has a projector screen, face-painting, a superhero visit and more.
It will launch with a free event on Saturday from 12pm to 2pm.
