The highlight for many will be Taste in the Park, but there's plenty more to see and do.
Organisers said Taste will be "served up a little differently" in 2020, when it makes its ninth appearance.
"We always look forward to Taste as it gives visitors and opportunity to explore what our great region has to offer and with the addition of Taste," Tamworth regional council events manager Barry Harley said.
Now he said there's even more reason for people to come back and "check it out".
The old favourites will be back, including the Pop-up-ar on Friday April 17, Taste in the Park - Bicentennial Park - on Saturday April 18, with a new Garden Bar that will remain open until 7pm, the annual Long Lunch - with a new home at the Oxley Scenic Lookout, and High Tea in the Gardens from 10am on Monday April 20, which will be followed by a new kid friendly version at 2pm.
"With the condensed Festival format we hope to see more visitors to the region for the entirety of the Festival", Mr Harley said.
"They can now arrive on Friday, enjoy four great events and head home on Monday".
This year, organisers will introduce a Taste Month campaign, targeting domestic visitation and campaigns designed to encourage people to holiday at home.

"We are pleased to see a number of local businesses have jumped at the opportunity to present local produce menus and host one-off events during the month of April, showcasing the great things available in the Tamworth region and surrounds," Mr Harley said.
Special events and activities to feature throughout Taste Month will be hosted by The Workshop Kitchen, The Pig & Tinder Box, Le Pruneau, Arc-en-Ciel Trout Farm, Tamworth Regional Gallery, The Retreat and some of the region's newest venues including CAMP Grounds, Strings & Beans and Connors by Corey.
The popular Country Capital Cook Off will also be making a return.
