The Wests Entertainment Group CEO attended the meeting on Saturday alongside representatives from Tamworth Regional Council and Tennis NSW.
Members of the public were invited along to have their say and Mr Laing said the feedback was all for the upgrades.
"The plans are very exciting - that's the feedback we've received from both [tennis club] members and neighbours," Mr Laing said.
"It's fair to say, the neighbours want the business to survive."
The redevelopment is set to cost $2.8 million. Half of that is coming from the federal government's Building Better Regions Fund, while the other half will be split between the Wests League Club ($975,000), Tamworth Regional Council ($225,000) and Tennis NSW ($200,000).
The finished product - slated to start construction in August - will include 13 tennis courts, a new car park and an upgraded clubhouse.
The operating hours for the new clubhouse would open earlier than it currently does - 3.30pm most days - which could see more staff put on.
"The intention is once the redevelopment is finished, it would open early AM and close later in the evening," Mr Laing said.
"The longer opening hours would take staff to man the facility which would create some jobs."
The new clubhouse would also include a large outdoor area.
"The plan is for an alfresco dining area," Mr Laing said.
"The outside area is quite large - the size of a tennis court - and what we've identified with our research is that's crucial to the business moving forward. It allows families to have a coffee, have a beverage in an outdoor environment and still being connected to the rest of the club."
