The Tamworth Greyhound Racing Club has been pushing for an overhaul of its facilities for many years and last year received renovations to the track from Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW).
However, a GRNSW spokesperson said the push for a complete upgrade of the facility was continuing.
"Discussions have been held and are continuing about the upgrade of the Tamworth track," the spokesperson said.

Tamworth MP and NSW minister for racing Kevin Anderson said the push for an upgrade of the Tamworth track was "nothing new".
"We have been pushing for about the last 18 months," Mr Anderson told the Leader.
"We have done an upgrade on the Tamworth track last year, but it's not big enough.
"It doesn't fit the track standards of what the greyhound racing industry needs now."
Mr Anderson said he would continue to push the case forward for an upgrade.
"From my understanding, council have earmarked a little block of land, GRNSW are keen and so is the club," he said.
"They are all coming together, so I think something is going to happen I just don't know when.
"I'm on the record as saying that I would love to see the track upgraded, whatever that looks like, so that we can continue to put welfare at the top of everything greyhound racing does."
The Tamworth Greyhound Racing Club is preparing for its annual Cup carnival on March 28-29 and April 4.
