Rideshare giant Ola has announced it will launch in the Tamworth region in the coming weeks as part of a nation-wide expansion.
The service will cover not only the Tamworth city boundary, but also out to areas from Hanging Rock, to Kentucky, to Kaputar.
Offering services in Tamworth and the surrounding region will bring more competition and choice to both rideshare users and drivers in the area, managing director of Ola Australia and New Zealand Simon Smith said.
The company said it is also recruiting rideshare drivers looking to start in Tamworth.
In a bid to attract customers from other transport operators like taxis and Uber, when Ola goes live in Tamworth, the company said new users will receive 30 per cent off all rides for their first two weeks from sign-up, up to a maximum discount of $10 per ride.
The launch is part of Ola's expansion into 18 regional hubs across Australia.
