AN Armidale real estate agent has lodged an appeal after he was jailed for sexual touching without consent.
Keith Thomas Ellis is out on conditional bail, after he appealed against his 12-month jail sentence handed down in Armidale Local Court.
Magistrate Michael Holmes found the only available penalty was a sentence of imprisonment and jailed Ellis for a maximum of 12 months, with a minimum of six months behind bars before he is eligible for parole.
The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge in the same court last year.
Ellis was taken into custody after the sentence was handed down but immediately lodged an appeal to the district court.
He was then granted conditional bail in Glen Innes Local on January 29, ahead of his appeal which will be heard in Armidale District Court in late-March.
Ellis was originally was charged with two offences, but one count was withdrawn in court prior to him entering a guilty plea to the charge.
Some of the details surrounding the case cannot be reported for legal reasons.
