Event co-ordinator Scotty Jon Welsh said he was stoked with the turnout for the event.
"The event was a bit outside of the box, but it was designed to bring extra patrons in to see the trots and it's done that pretty well," Welsh said.
"It's been a few months preparation putting this meeting together and to see such a big crowd turn up.
"This turnout makes all the hard worthwhile, that's for sure.
"It really wen't berserk online," he said.
"I think it's because they are such good dogs - there just so loyal.
"I've got a couple myself and I think an event like this is just what we needed to bring a few more people to the trots."
Club president Julie Maughan praised Welsh's efforts in organising the event.
"Scotty has done a wonderful job," Maughan said.
"He's organised all of this himself and really helped attract a great crowd to the event.
"I think Scotty is a real quiet achiever and his efforts are very much appreciated by the club. We will certainly look at running these kinds of events again in the future."
