Due to current environmental factors and excessive use of water needed for the 2020 Toughen Up Challenge, the committee felt the water would be better allocated elsewhere in the community.
"Believe us when we say that this decision was not taken lightly, but with current environmental factors and the excessive use of water used during the staging of the event for mud pits, skip bin dives, water challenges and our biggest consumption being for showers for both the junior and adult events," they said.
To show gratitude for the years of support show to the Toughen Up Challenge, the committee will donate $5000 to Inverell RFS branch and $5000 to Inverell Lions Club's drought relief project to help make a difference.
The committee are aiming to come back bigger, better and more challenging in March 2021, provided the region gets so decent rainfall by then.
"So, make sure you keep up the training and watch our socials for future information," they said. For more information, head to Inverell Toughen Up Challenge on Facebook.
