Group 4 chairman Ray McCoy said the Boars had a strong case to move into Group 4 next season.
"Part of the merger between NSWRL and CRL was that there wouldn't be any movement of clubs between groups for the first two years," McCoy said.
"I think the Boars, Group 4 and Group 19 have put forward a strong case to get the club across the line.
"However, we will just have to wait and see what the decision will be at the meeting."
As well as the Boars, Walcha and Uralla have also flagged an interest in shifting groups for the 2020 season.
"Those clubs are in a similar boat to Moree, in that we will have to wait and see," McCoy said.
"Everything has been done at our end, now it is up to the board to decide."
McCoy said Group 4 had been working hard on formulating a fixture for the upcoming first-grade season.
"We are looking to begin the season on during the first weekend of May, similar to what we did in 2019," he said.
"At this stage, the fixture for first grade, under-18 and ladies league tag is looking pretty set.
"Regardless of what the decision is on the Boars, we will be able to put a first-grade fixture together quite quickly.
"The reserve-grade fixture and that sort of thing, will be looked at once the board makes a decision at the meeting."
