A FAMILIAR face is getting set to take the reins of one of Tamworth's most popular fitness groups.

In the coming weeks, Myo and Barn's Brooke Carrington will take over from good friend Natalie Deacon as the lead trainer of Kangatraining.
The "mums and bubs" fitness group based out of Tamworth's Ballet Stars allows mothers to train while having their baby in a carrier.

Mrs Deacon said she was leaving the running of the group "in Brooke's capable hands".
"I had been running it for six years on and off," Mrs Deacon told the Leader.
"I started after I had my first son Nate, but now all three of my young ones have been through Kangatraining with me over the years, which is really special.
"Now, I'm heading back to work as a school teacher and I think it's time for me to be a mum and chill out a bit.
"Brooke has been involved for a while now and I'm sure she will do a great job.
"I'll be helping her transition into leading the group for the first few weeks and then letting her go on her own."
Mrs Carrington said her passion for the group stemmed from her company Myo and Barn, which focuses on massage and wellness.
"I love supporting women throughout their entire journeys, especially into motherhood and after," Mrs Carrington said.
"I first saw Kangatraining when I was pregnant with my second and I thought I'd really like to do it.
"Initially I was just a participant, until I saw Nat might not be continuing in it and it was something I'd love to do.
"As well as that, it's a great extension of what I already do with Myo and Barn."
The regular sessions provide mums and their children an opportunity to get active, as well as hands-on tutorials with the fitness equipment.
"I've just about finished my training to be able to run the training and I'll be looking to kick off as soon as possible after it's done," Mrs Carrington said.
"It's a fabulous resource for Tamworth.
"I want to do it justice because I have really enjoyed it for the year or so I've done it.
"It's not just about the fitness aspect, it's also a great chance for mums to reach out and connect with other mums.
"There's certainly a social aspect to it."
Mrs Deacon said she was eager to stay involved with the group.
"It's such a special social connection you form by doing this," she said.
"I'm actually still in contact with some mums I did this with when I first started.
"I might be a bit busier now than in the past, but I'll certainly look to get involved where I can."
