The results are expected to be handed down by the end of the week.
It could be a nervous wait for residents in Duri, as the council continues to take samples from bores in the area to determine the extent of the contamination.
In a written statement, the council advised "residents in the area that bore water should not be consumed and the use of bores should be limited to prevent further contamination".
The council is working with the Environmental Protection Authority and NSW Health to ensure any contamination is contained.
