THE Newcastle Knights began their week-long training camp at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School with a gruelling fitness session on Monday morning.

Battling hot temperatures, the entire Knights squad were put through their paces via a number of training drills.
The session began a busy program for the Knights, which will include the group run a training clinic at the school on Tuesday.

Knights second-rower Aidan Guerra said the facilities at Farrer were second to none.
"We're expecting a couple of tough days of training ahead, but the good thing about coming to a place like this is you get to come together as a group," Guerra said.
"Driving into town, we could see it was pretty dry, but we've had nice, green grass here to train on, which is nice.
"Getting to train at a place like this - that is pretty proud of the way it plays its football - is special and their facilities really show that."
The Knights have a strong connection with the school as well as the Tamworth region, having taken on the Wests Tigers at Scully Park in 2018.
"It was really good to play a game here in Tamworth and the support we have up here is really strong," Guerra said.
"Throughout the week, we are going to be getting in and around the community and talk to the people who make this town what it is.
"As a team, we are really looking forward to that and building those relationships with the locals up here.
"We want to keep our footprint very heavy here because this our grass roots.
"We are a proud club, this is a proud town and we want to be a part of it."
More than 150 juniors from across the region are expected to flock to the training clinic on Tuesday afternoon.
Guerra said the squad would be focusing on a variety of areas during the training camp.
"Fun is one word for it," he said.
"You don't know what to expect in a game, so if we come into this camp with that mentality we will cop it with a grin and do it together.
"As for the weather, we can't really control that and we will just take it comes."
