About 6pm, a Ford utility was travelling west towards Barraba when the driver lost control and rolled several times.
Police said a short time later, the occupants of a vehicle passing by stopped and assisted the three women.
A 23-year-old driver and two passengers, both aged 18, suffered various injuries in the crash. Passersby conducted CPR on the driver until emergency services arrived.
Police confirmed the 23-year-old suffered various broken bones, and suspected internal and spinal injuries.
She was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition, police said.
One 18-year-old was taken to hospital with broken bones and a head injury, while the other was taken to Tamworth hospital with suspected broken ribs, and head and spinal injuries.
Oxley police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, the rescue helicopter was also tasked to a farm at Tooraweenah, west of Coonabarabran, on Monday morning.
Just before 11am on Monday, the chopper was deployed to the rural property after reports a 55-year-old man was seriously injured after falling six metres from a tree.
The helicopter was able to land at the property where the Critical Care Medical Team stablised the patient with paramedics for spinal and abdominal injuries.
He was then flown to Tamworth hospital for further treatment.
EARLIER
AMBULANCE paramedics and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter were called to two separate car accidents within hours on Sunday.
Earlier in the evening, a 22-year-old female was involved in a single car crash at Bundarra.
The woman was treated at the scene before being flown out by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
She was transported to Tamworth hospital with unknown injuries.

Later that evening, the rescue chopper was called to Nullamanna, north west of Glen Innes.
They were called after reports an 80-year-old male was injured when a car lost control and rolled.
A woman, also involved in the accident, was transported to the Inverell hospital by road ambulance with minor injuries, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter said.
The man in the car was transported to the Lismore Base Hospital by helicopter in a stable condition for specialist treatment.
