I know I am looking forward to having my family back home this Christmas after a tremendous year.
The March election and subsequent promotion to the Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation as well as being the Minister Responsible for Racing is a fantastic honour and my main aim with being the minister is to be able deliver back in the electorate.
This unprecedented drought has placed some unimaginable challenges on the region and across the state. I have been glad to be able to take the representations of my constituents to the parliament to make sure we get the support we need.

I urge those people being impacted by this drought to seek assistance, don't self-assess. Talk to a professional counsellor or call the Rural Assistance Authority on 1800 678 593 to get the most up-to-date information available.
Another part of a family Christmas is getting back together and often travelling long distances to be with each other. I implore you to be safe and take care while travelling on our roads over the summer break.
I want everyone to stop and think - think about how their behaviour on the roads impacts others, think about how they would feel if they lost a loved one and think about what they can do to help stop these deaths and injuries on our roads.
Have a fantastic break with your family and friends and keep praying for rain, who knows we might get an old-fashioned flood in January?
