A TEENAGE girl has become the ninth person charged as part of a police operation investigating ecstasy supply in the Tamworth area.

The Leader can reveal the 18-year-old girl is in custody in the cells of the Tamworth police station, accused of commercial supply of the drug MDMA, or ecstasy as it is commonly known.
She was arrested by police from the Oxley Target Action Group on Thursday afternoon after handing herself in to police.
She is facing one charge of supplying a commercial quantity of MDMA; seven counts of supplying more than an indictable quantity of MDMA; participating in a criminal group; and ongoing supply of a prohibited drug.

Some of the charges carry a maximum of 20 years' imprisonment, if convicted in court.
Officers will allege the teen girl was supplying ecstasy in the Tamworth and Armidale areas.
She was refused bail by police and will front a bail hearing in Tamworth Local Court on Friday morning.
On Wednesday, an 18-year-old man was arrested in Armidale by police from Strike Force Heyward.
The 18-year-old is charged with three counts of supplying more than an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, namely MDMA; as well as a charge of conspiracy to supply less than a commercial quantity of the same drug.
He was granted conditional bail by police late on Wednesday to front court in early-2020.
Police have warned up to 20 people will be charged as part of the police investigation which has been investigating the supply of MDMA, or ecstasy, and cocaine in and around the Tamworth pub and club scene.
The operation unfolded on December 5 with a series of raids and five arrests in Tamworth and Muswellbrook.
