The fire broke out in the Cataract National Park near Paddys Flat, north of Drake, and is spreading quickly.
Residents are being urged to leave in the direction of Tabulam.
The fire has burnt 782 hectares of bush land and is currently burning in a north-easterly direction towards Paddys Flat and Pretty Gully.
