POLICE are appealing for public help to try and identify two men who bashed a man with a metal bar and robbed him in Tamworth.

The 42-year-old victim has been released from hospital after Sunday morning's assault on Calala Lane in Calala.
The man was walking across the bridge on Calala Lane when he was confronted by two men at about 2am.
Police have been told one of the offenders struck the man to the knee using an iron bar.

The victim fell to the ground where he was hit again, this time in the back of the head, by the offender carrying the weapon.
The two offenders stole the man's wallet and his phone and fled.
Police were carrying out patrols nearby when the attack occurred, and were quickly on the scene.
They spoke with the victim. He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics and later went to hospital for treatment for the head injury.
He has since been released.
Police are continuing to investigate the violent robbery and are appealing for anyone that might have been driving along Calala Lane between 1.30am and 2.30am on Sunday.
They're also appealing for anyone that might have seen two men acting suspiciously in the area.
The pair are described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance and were last seen wearing dark coloured shorts and sneakers.
