Santa Claus and a couple of his trusty reindeer undertook a Tamworth rite of passage and 'chucked a Peelie' as the city gets ready to flick on the festive feeling.
The city's Christmas tree will be lit on Thursday night.

There will be a bauble guessing competition and someone will win a car as the shop local Christmas campaign come to a close.
The Tamworth Business Chamber said the campaign has driven hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of sales in local shops.
