A MAN has been charged, accused of grabbing a teenage girl as she walked in East Tamworth.

The 37-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after investigations into the child approach on Carthage Street a day earlier.
The 15-year-old girl was walking along Carthage Street at about 9.30am on Monday when she was approached by a man.
Police claim the man tried to start a conversation with the teenager as she walked passed his car, which was parked on the roadside.

It's alleged the man got out of his car and confronted the girl.
He's then accused of grabbing her backpack, and forcibly pulling her backwards.
The girl managed to break free and she ran from the scene. Police were alerted and launched an investigation immediately.
Officers then tracked a 37-year-old man to a Tamworth home and he was arrested at 10am on Tuesday.
He was taken to Tamworth police station and questioned before he was charged with common assault, as well as stalk and intimidate by intending to cause fear.
He was granted conditional by police to front Tamworth Local Court in early-January.
