One of Australia's best loved and most internationally recognised performers, Philip Quast, accompanied by Anne-Maree McDonald on piano, will delight audiences as the opening show in Capitol Theatre Season 2020 with an intimate musical tale of his extraordinary life in the theatre.
The three time Olivier Award winning actor will share his favourite stories and songs from his journey so far. From Tamworth, where he grew up on his parents' turkey farm, to the glittering stages of the West End and Broadway, Philip is a passionate actor, singer, director, writer, teacher and fisherman...often hilarious, sometimes outrageous with a message always from the heart.
Philip and Anne-Maree can be seen at Capitol Theatre Tamworth, Saturday 22 February at 8pm with tickets going on general public sale on Monday 9 December at 9am.
Another immense crowd pleaser is the all time favourite musical, Mamma Mia! which also goes on sale Monday 9 December at 9am.
There has been a huge amount of discussion around this Tamworth Musical Society production for 2020, with auditions taking place earlier in November. Captaining the ship is Peter Ross as director, Tim Godden as musical director and Kristi Cini as Choreographer.
The cast has already been announced and have started vocal rehearsals for what is going to be a magnificent production opening in May.
You may recognise some of the names in the star studded cast including Gabriela McDonald as Donna, Chloe Hall as Sophie, Natacha Curnow as Tanya, Paula Parris as Rosie, Ben Simpson as Sam, Adam Petronaitis as Harry, Aaron Jones as Bill and Luke Stevenson as Sky.
This heart-warming, fun show is filled with your favourite ABBA songs, guaranteeing this to be hot at the box office from the moment the tickets go on sale.
