About 11.30pm on Friday, a confrontation occurred out the front of Domino's Pizza, on the corner of Phillip and Bridge streets.
"This resulted in a person receiving a superficial wound to the chest," Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy confirmed.
Police are remaining tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding the altercation but they believe the parties involved are known to one another.

It's not believed to be a random attack, but detectives were continuing to investigate on Monday the moments leading up to the confrontation.
"Detectives are currently investigating the incident. I can confirm there was a confrontation and a male person was treated for a superficial injury," Detective Darcy said.
"We are appealing for anyone with dash cam footage who was in the Bridge and Phillip Street area, or any nearby businesses with CCTV that might show the people in question.
"We would urge anyone with information or footage to come forward and speak with Tamworth detectives."
No charges have been laid.
